Colorado BBQ Challenge Cancelled Until 2021
Due to current public health orders and conditions, the Town of Frisco has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Colorado BBQ Challenge, which in April had been postponed from June 19-20 to September 25-26, 2020. The Town of Frisco had hoped that this event could be held in September to honor this 27-year-old tradition and support ongoing economic recovery. Current health orders allow for outdoor events with a maximum of 175 participants, and the next phase of public health orders moves that maximum attendance to 500 attendees. Even if the next level of public health orders was reached by September, it is clear that there is no realistic way to significantly reduce the draw of this event in order to respect and protect the public’s health during a street event, which typically draws 12,000-14,000 attendees over two days.
The Colorado BBQ Challenge will be back in 2021 on June 18 and 19.
Please join us this September for the 27th Annual Colorado BBQ Challenge. 2020 will feature 70+ BBQers, 7 bands, pig races, kids’ activities, the 6th Annual Fire Fighter Cook Off, food sampling and demos, the Breckenridge Distillery Whiskey Tour, the Bacon Burner 6k and the best BBQ you will have in Colorado this year.
