An Afternoon with New York Times Best-Selling Author Sandra Dallas—A Celebration of Women’s History Month

Mar 12, 2016 (Past event)

In celebration of Women’s History Month, join the Summit Historical Society for an afternoon of tea, goodies, and conversation with noted author, Sandra Dallas.

New York Times best-selling author Sandra Dallas, the author of fifteen adult novels, two young reader novels, and ten nonfiction books, was dubbed “a quintessential American voice” by noted author Jane Smiley, in Vogue Magazine. Ms. Dallas’ novels with their themes of loyalty, friendship, and human dignity are largely set in Colorado. Ms. Dallas will focus her conversation on three of these books: The Last Midwife, released September, 2015; Prayers for Sale; and White as Snow, as all three books are set in Summit County.

Ms. Dallas, who lived in Breckenridge for many years, weaves together Summit County history, weather and geography to create historical fiction which is poignantly relatable to modern life in Summit County. Because quilts are featured prominently in Ms. Dallas’ books, local quilters will present a display of quilts at this event.
