Free Sunday Concert in the Park: Knight Groove & more

Jul 22, 2018 (Past event)

Knight Groove Band

Join us at the Frisco Historic Park for this special SUNDAY Concert in the Park on Sunday, July 22 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm with Knight Groove, Frisco Funk Collective and John Truscelli and Jess Rose.

Knight Groove is led by pocket drummer and soul singer Mahlon Knight. A collection of passionate musicians bring a powerful sound heavily influenced by funk masters James Brown, The Meters and Maceo Parker, and the epic jam band style of The Allman Brothers. The over-the-top, off-the-hook, funk arrangements delight lovers of live music with high energy performances and inspired improvisations. After years of distilling and refining its sound, Knight Groove is finally releasing its original funk, jazz, soul and blues music in 2018 to a large, growing and eager fan base.

The Frisco Funk Collective plays high energy jazz, funk and dance tunes. Led by bass player Tyler Easton, the Collective has been playing shows throughout Colorado since 2015. The idea of the Frisco Funk Collective is to bring out the best of each instrument while digging deep into the charts of the new-funk movement. Influenced heavily by the sounds of the 70’s fusion-era artists, the Collective brings modern excitement to jazz and funk performances that get audiences dancing.

Singer/songwriter John Truscelli is a local favorite who offers a unique and soulful voice in all genres of music. John was an honorable mention for the Telluride Bluegrass Troubadour competition in 2013, and his single, “Hard To Say Goodbye”, was featured on “Deadliest Catch” on the Discovery Channel, as well as the movie “The Fifth Quarter”. Joining John in this performance is Jess Rose Moidel who brings formidable violin and vocal skills.

All liquor sales and refreshment sales to benefit the Friends of the Dillon Ranger District.
