The 10th Annual Kids’ Sandcastle Competition originally scheduled for August 15, 2020 is cancelled and will return to the Frisco Bay Marina in 2021.
Schedule
Day of registration will be from 9:00am to 10:00am on the Marina lawn. The competition will start at 10:00am and kids will have until 11:30am to build their sandcastles. Judging will start at 11:30am. Summit County avalanche rescue dogs will make a special appearance and will help judge the sandcastles. Awards will take place at 12:00pm. The event will take place RAIN or SHINE!
Ages & Prizes
Age divisions will be 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. Teams with multiple children will be placed into the age division of the oldest child in their group. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place for each age division and to the overall winner.
Supplies
Each team will receive one free bucket and shovel, while supplies last. The free buckets and shovels are sponsored by Stork & Bear Company. Children are encouraged to bring their own sandcastle building supplies and anything they would like to decorate their sandcastle with. Any items brought to enhance participants’ sandcastles must be left with the sandcastles for viewing throughout the day. Items may be picked up at 3:00pm.
