Mardi Gras 4Paws

Feb 25, 2017 (Past event)

Three women and their dogs dress up in Mardi Gras costumes at the Mardi Gras 4Paws event

Mardi Gras 4Paws, inspired by the Bacchus Parade in New Orleans, comes to Frisco on Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 2:00pm-5:0opm with its own version for our four-legged friends! Hosted by the Town of Frisco, L.A.P.S. and The Lost Cajun Restaurant, this event is a costumed parade for dogs and their families. Starting at 3:45pm, the parade travels down Main Street from 2nd Avenue to 7th Avenue along the sidewalk and back up the other side of the street for full viewing of the colorful canines and their entourage. At 4:30pm prizes will be awarded for dogs in costumes only, for a King and Queen along with a full court of winners. There is also a “Belinda’s Best” category to commemorate the late Belinda Griffin, who inspired this event.

Join us for the parade, costume judging, games and Yappy Hour refreshments from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at 2nd Avenue between Main Street and the alley, which will be closed for this Mardi Gras block party. Event day registration starts at 2:00pm if you miss the online registration. Enjoy listening to the festive Mardi Gras music, while you sip the New Belgium beer or wine, hot Abbey’s coffee or hot chocolate during Yappy Hour. The Lost Cajun donates their delicious gumbo and beignets and we did not forget the pooches…we sell our own version of bottled Doggie Beer too!
