Mardi Gras is for pets too! Inspired by the Mystic Krewe of Barkus Parade which is part of Mardi Gras in New Orleans, the Mardi Gras 4Paws Parade is returning to Frisco’s Main Street!
Saturday, February 6, 2016
3:00pm – 6:00pm
2nd Avenue & Main St, Frisco: Registration and dog mingling and selfie opportunities will also be available at this location and the costumed dog parade will start here, traveling on Main Street sidewalks from 2nd Avenue to 7th Avenue and back up the other side of Main Street ending at the “yappy” hour street party.
“Yappy hour” will feature gumbo and beignets from Lost Cajun Restaurant, hot beverages from Abbey’s Coffee, beer from New Belgium Brewing and wine from Cupcake Vineyards.
Participants are encouraged to dress up their dogs and family in costume for this lighthearted annual parade. All prizes awarded will be for doggy costumes, but the humans are encouraged to dress up too, so they don’t embarrass their furry companions.
Pre-registration is $20 per dog and $5 for each additional dog and is available online at www.summitlaps.com.
Day of registration will be $25 per dog, humans are free.
Paid registration will include: Mardi Gras doggie bandana, beads, dog treats and a token for your choice of one bowl of gumbo, beer, wine or Doggie Brew. The $5 registrations for additional dogs will get beads and treats only. $5 tokens for food and beverages will be available for sale during the “yappy” hour street party as well.
All proceeds benefit the League for Animals and People of the Summit (L.A.P.S.).
