Cancelled – Winter Lecture Series: Mining Camps Speak

Mar 25, 2020 (Past event)

The Winter Lecture Series at the FHPM has been cancelled out of on an abundance of caution and based on guidance from Summit County Health. Lectures may be rescheduled for a later date. Please continue to follow our website and Facebook for additional information on postponements. Thank you for your understanding!

Over the years, Beth Sagstetter heard time and time again from people who had visited ghost town sites and were disappointed because there was “nothing left.” So she wrote The Mining Camps Speak to share new ways to explore these mysterious sites, even if all that’s left is rubble.

The techniques are valid in any western state, even Alaska. It begins where other ghost town guidebooks end. In her illuminating talk, Beth guides attendees through sites in Sherlock Holmes fashion demonstrating how to identify forgotten pieces of the past. You will see for yourself the lives that passed this way and you will hear The Mining Camps Speak.

This event is free and open to the public.

The Frisco Historic Park & Museum’s winter lecture series features 8 educational presentations held at the Historic Park Log Chapel every Wednesday, February 5 – March 25, 2020 at 3:00pm. Seating is limited so please arrive early.
