Winter Lecture Series: The Ski Troops

During this 90-minute lecture on the 10th Mountain Division, Colonel Tom Duhs (Retired) United States Marine Corps, pulls back the curtain to reveal how the US Army’s specialized mountain infantry division operated.

Tom’s presentation delves into such topics as the WWII years, the division’s recruitment strategies, training at Camp Hale, and combat in the Italian Alps. Additionally, Tom discusses the legacy of the 10th Mountain Division and its veterans; including Pete Seibert, the founder of Vail Ski Resort.

For the past two years, Tom Duhs has delivered this action-packed lecture at libraries, museums, ski clubs, climbing and ski shops, and even Colorado Mountain College.

This event is free and open to the public.

The Frisco Historic Park & Museum’s winter lecture series features 8 educational presentations held at the Historic Park Log Chapel every Wednesday, February 5 – March 25, 2020 at 3:00pm. Seating is limited so please arrive early.
