COVID-19 Rental Updates

  • Rentals will be only available for walk-ups or phone reservations on the day of, weather permitting and based on availability prior to memorial weekend 2021.
  • Only one person from each party will be allowed into the Marina office at a time, and they must wear a face covering per Summit Public Health Orders.
  • Everyone must maintain at least six feet of distance from folks not in their party inside and outside. If you are not able to maintain six feet of distance outside, then you must wear a face covering.
  • Physical distancing guidelines must be followed on the beach and playground as well; folks should stay at least six feet from folks not in their party. If it is too crowded to do that, then guests are urged to move on to another activity and return when they can protect their health through safe physical distancing
  • Guests and employees are asked to stay home if they are sick. All guests will be asked if they are experiencing any symptoms, and hand sanitizer will be made available to all guests.
  • All power boat group size maximums, which are currently 10 people maximum, will follow group size regulations in accordance with County and State Public Health Orders.
  • Power boats and all paddle sport equipment will be thoroughly wiped down between each rental by Marina staff with disinfecting cleaner.
  • All used personal flotation devises (PFDs) will be disinfected between each rental.
  • There will be staggered rental start times between each group to allow minimal group interactions in the Marina office and on the docks.

Canoeing & Kayaking

The Frisco Bay Marina offers great non-motorized options to get you and your family out on the lake. The Marina also offers are fishing boats and pontoon boats.

How to rent?

  • The first day that rentals will be available for the summer 2021 season is projected to be Friday, May 28, 2021- weather dependent.
  • Online rental reservations are available now.
  • Reservations may also be made by calling 970-668-4334.

Canoes

Canoes are Old Town Guide 160’s and are perfect for taking out a small family with gear or lunch, the minimum weight limit for a child is 30 lbs. 2 or 3 passengers can easily fit.

Single Kayaks 

Single kayaks are great for guests who wish to command their own craft. Guests must be 12 or older to use full-size kayaks. Kid-specific kayaks are available for ages 7 to 12 and come with a kid’s paddle. The kid’s kayaks come with a tether so if they can not paddle, the parent may tow them.

Tandem kayaks hold 2 people and are great for taking out a child who is not able to go out on their own. Must be 12 or older to command this craft and minimum weight for a child passenger is 30 lbs.

Restrictions

  • For paddle sports, we ask you to arrive 20-30 minutes early to check in
  • Facial coverings are required to enter Marina Office for checking in
  • Select the ONE Driver (Power Sport) or ONE Person(Paddle Sport) of the party to check in for reservation. (Office Maximum Capacity = 4 Guests)
  • Every guest must have a facial covering when checking in the boat on the dock
  • 2 Hour Minimum
  • Prices subject to change.
  • Prices include fuel and PFDs.
  • No grills or heaters. No swimming or skiing. No beaching of the powerboats.
  • Captains must be 18 years of age and sober.
  • No switching out of passengers/renters allowed.
  • Car keys are held in the office in exchange for the boat rental.
  • Infants under 30 lbs. not allowed and Children included in head count.
  • No Dogs allowed on any Paddle Sports
  • Cancellation policy for rentals
    • Power boats – if you cancel within 48 hrs of your start time you will be charged 20% of your fee. Outside of this time you can receive a full refund.
    • Paddle sports – if you cancel within 24 hrs of your start time you will be charged 20% of your fee. Outside of this time you can receive a full refund.
    • Weather related refunds – you can receive a full refund if we experience unsafe weather conditions at the time of your rental. We have a weather radar in our office to predict these conditions the best we can. Once your boat leaves the dock we CANNOT refund your rental.
    • No call and no show- will result in no refund

Tours depart daily from the Frisco Bay Marina pier. Each tour includes a 15 minute safety talk, question piece, and techniques instruction. No experience required!
