Eight Ski And Ride Hills within Minutes of Frisco

Frisco is located at the epicenter of winter recreation with eight ski and ride resorts within 4 minutes to 45 minutes of Frisco’s charming Main Street. We even have free transportation to 4 of those resorts right from Main Street. Frisco also sports a lift assisted tubing hill, 27km of groomed Nordic trails, backcountry skiing, the nearby Janet’s Cabin backcountry hut and miles of trails on public lands.

Boredom is just not possible in Frisco, but you might catch a case of F.O.M.O (fear of missing out). But not to worry, Frisco is welcoming and laidback with wallet friendly lodging, so come check us out for your next winter adventure.

Plan Your Winter Ski Trip to Frisco – Safety and Reservation Information for the 2020/2021 Season

Tickets are not available for purchase onsite an any of the ski areas listed below. Pre-planning will be required for advance purchases. Facial coverings or masks that cover both your nose and mouth are required at all ski areas while in lift lines, on chairlifts, in gondolas and when in the base area. Practicing physical distancing will also be required while in lift lines, on lift chairs, in gondolas, and when in the base area.

This ski and snowboard season will operate differently, but will still provide great skiing and snowboarding. Many of the ski resorts have similar protocols in place, but nuanced differences do exist and are important to understand while you plan your ski vacation.

Frisco Adventure Park Beginner Ski and Ride Hill

4 minutes– The Frisco Adventure Park Beginner Ski and Ride Hill is Frisco’s own beginner ski and ride hill just 4 minutes from Frisco’s Main Street. This beginner hill is reminiscent of the friendly community hills of years’ past where families learned to ski and ride together, and the lodge and parking were a stone’s throw from the hill. The hill was founded in 2010 with this throwback vibe, and new skiers and riders will find a hill free of crowds and full of learning opportunities.

What to Expect for the 2020/2021 Winter Season at the Beginner Ski and Ride Hill

Reservations are required and can be made by calling 970-668-2558. A limited number of tickets are offered daily and often sell out. The ski and ride hill is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. In previous years, Frisco has teamed up with Copper Mountain Resort to offer beginner ski and snowboard lessons without the crowds or chairlifts – just a friendly surface lift called a magic carpet making it the perfect place to learn and get ready for a day at Copper Mountain. We’re still working with Copper Mountain on the lesson schedule for this season. Please call 970-668-2558 with any questions. Facial coverings will be required at the Adventure Park. Pre-packaged snacks and restrooms will be available in the lodge, but indoor seating will not be available this year.

Copper Mountain

At 7 minutes from Frisco’s Main Street, Copper Mountain is Frisco’s big mountain and where you’ll find most Frisco and Summit County locals skiing its over 140 run, 23 lifts and 2,586 acres of skiable terrain. Here in Summit County, Copper is known as the “local’s mountain” or “skier’s/rider’s mountain” because of its welcoming atmosphere and incredible terrain, which really does offer something for every level of skier.

All guests to Copper Mountain are required to make a parking reservation for the days they intend to visit, this includes passholders, lift ticket purchasers and snow tubers. While embracing the chase at Copper Mountain, you’ll experience contactless ticket and pass pickup, cashless transactions and expanded grab-and-go dining options.

Breckenridge Ski Resort

Just 15 minutes down the road is Breckenridge Ski Resort, which doesn’t need much introduction as it is one of the most visited ski resorts in North America. The 2013 expansion to Peak 6 added 540 acres of beautiful terrain for a total of 2,908 acres. The upper bowls of Peak 8 offer great skiing and great views of the valley and a peek to the west even affords a looksie at Copper Mountain.

All passholders to Breckenridge Resort are required to make a reservation for on-mountain access. Reservations can be made online at EpicPass.com. Lift tickets are limited, will automatically include a reservation, and must be purchased in advance of your arrival. Upon arrival, you’ll find all transactions to be cashless and on-mountain dining still available with managed capacities.

Keystone Resort

A 20 minute drive takes you to Keystone which is the largest resort in Summit County offering 3,148 skiable acres. While skiing and riding are inherently great family activities, Keystone has taken it to a whole new level with designated close-in parking for families, red loaner equipment wagons and daily Kidtopia activities for the munchkins.

Loveland Ski Area

20 minutes in the other direction brings you to Loveland Ski Area, a mountain with a laid back vibe, stunning views and 1,800 acres of fabulous terrain. There are no shuttles or long walks to lifts here- just pure and wonderful skiing and riding.

What to Expect for the 2020/2021 Winter Season at Loveland Ski Area

Loveland Ski Area does not require additional reservations as online, in-advance ticket and pass sales are limited. Make your car home-base at Loveland Ski Area this year as access to indoor spaces is limited and many dining options are not open this winter. Gear up, warm up, rest and eat in your vehicle.

Arapahoe Basin

25 minutes delivers you to Arapahoe Basin which is known as “A-Basin” or “the Basin” by its many devoted fans. There are no condos or glitzy shops at the Basin, just unadulterated fun on snow with nine lifts and more than 1,400 skiable acres.

What to Expect for the 2020/2021 Winter Season at Arapahoe Basin

Arapahoe Basin passholders, Mountain Collective passholders and Arapahoe Basin Any Day passholders are not restricted during the 2020-2021 winter season and do not need to make an additional reservation. Ikon passholders are required to make a reservation online for Arapahoe Basin.

A-Basin is well known for their beach, this year however, tailgating and large group gatherings in the parking lots will not be allowed. Get back to the basics of skiing at A-Basin this year.

Vail

30 minutes over Vail Pass is Vail Mountain clocking in at a behemoth 5,289 acres. It is a spectacle of skiing and riding choices, which will turn your legs to spaghetti. Vail typically dukes it out with Breckenridge for the most visited resort in North America, and if you are imagining swanky shops, great people-watching and fun après ski scene, then you have a very accurate imagination.

Beaver Creek

45 minutes from Frisco sits Beaver Creek with 1,800 acres of terrain and where you can often find untouched powder, even a few days after a storm. And if you’ve never been handed a free warm chocolate chip cookie after skiing here, then you haven’t really lived. Beaver Creek has a way of bringing luxury and sport together in an exceptional way- even for us mere mortals.
