Frisco will still celebrate Wassail Days this year from November 28 – December 6. For obvious reasons, things are going to look VERY different for 2020’s event, but we are doing our best to keep the spirit alive and kick off the winter by supporting our local Frisco businesses. While this year won’t allow for our traditional competition, samplings of Wassail or a commemorative mug, there will be other ways that your business will be able to participate.

For Restaurants

Having a Wassail Days celebration with no wassail just seems wrong, so we are asking restaurants to carry the torch by offering a cup of their own custom wassail to diners with purchase of an entrée. As part of our marketing for this year’s event, we will be creating a list of every restaurant where people can expect to find wassail. To be included on this list, please sign up no later than Friday, November 6, 2020.

For Retail Stores

To help create the charming winter feel that Wassail Days is known for, we are encouraging all businesses to decorate their store fronts with a festive window display. This is a great way to help expose guests to your business so they can see what you have to offer. To support this initiative, we will be advertising a wassail-themed window display scavenger hunt. The first 10 retail businesses that sign-up will get to play host to our coveted “wassail hunt items” to incorporate into their window display for our guests and locals alike to find.

To replace the commemorative mugs, this year’s festivities will include special Wassail Days branded reusable bags, intended for customers who spend $50 or more at Frisco retail stores (excluding grocery stores and liquor stores). No need to sign up as these bags will be distributed to our retailers by Town of Frisco staff the week before Thanksgiving, so be on the look-out!

Love Frisco, Winter Frisco – Shop Local Program

In order to promote shopping, dining, and staying local, Frisco Town Council has approved the re-launch of the Love Frisco e-gift card program. This popular summer program, Love Frisco, Shop/Stay Frisco, will be renamed and rebranded Love Frisco, Winter Frisco. The program will re-launch on November 15, 2020 with e-gift card sales from November 15, 2020 – January 15, 2021 and will be similar to the summer program, giving folks the chance to purchase e-gift cards for use at local businesses in the amount of $30, $75 and $120 in order to receive a complimentary bonus e-gift card compliments of the Town of Frisco in concurrent amounts of $10, $25, and $40. Bonus e-gift cards will expire on March 31, 2021, but purchased cards will not have an expiration date. Businesses which were already enrolled in the summer Love Frisco program will continue to be enrolled. Businesses who did not sign up the summer Love Frisco program and wish to sign up for Love Frisco, Winter Frisco program should email Tasha Wilson at TashaW@townoffrisco.com.
